Cinema Screening & Class Feedback
When I watched our final thriller project in the cinemas, I was able to capture the whole thing on footage along with people's reactions while they was watching it. In my opinion, our thriller film was one of the finest and most effective ones out of the many others, as there were a lot of laughter towards other clips. Everyone took our one serious and were at the edge of their seats in shock of the paranormal events happening.

How does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The opening thriller is about a young girl who gets stalked by her evil twin sister, the group chose to choose a young girl as a victim because in many horror/thriller movies, mainly the protagonist is a female. This is very common with many movies such as 'The Unborn'

Evaluation - 8) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel have learned in the progression from it to the full product?
TASK: Export some short clips from your preliminary task and compare them with some clips from your final production to demonstrate how you and your skills have progressed.
Shots
I believe I gained some new skills with framing camera shots since the prelimary task, along with a wider range of shots. I managed to use a wider variety of shots including wide shots to show scenary, close ups to show emotion, high angle shots to show vulnerability and more. I also including tracking and panning and point of view shots in the final film.
Editing
My editing has improved vastly as I have learnt how to create better transitions and effects. I have also learnt to use match cuts and jump cuts with the extra shots I have taken. After asking everyone about their opinion on our opening, I can honestly say that people understand the concept of the opening. In the prelimary there was just about cut and edit, no major edits unlike the final. In the final, there included a lot of flickering effects.
Mise en scene
We used mise en scene very effectively in our final production compared to our preliminary. Starting from the props, in the prelimary there were literally no props whatsoever. But in the final film, there included various props such as balls, bags, chairs, toys etc. The outfits were far better aswel because we had to film the preliminary on the day it was set so we couldnt get a chance to find the proper outfits to suit the situation. Whereas in the final film, we managed to play off two different and opposite outfits for the two characters. The location of the final film worked very well as the scenary seemed very quiet, calm and lonely.
Sound
Our sound skills improved since the prelimary as there was no background sound or music in the prelimary. But in the final film, there was background music and sound effects which were both digetic and non-digetic.
Planning
Planning and research was very useful to our final production as it helped us plan a schedule on what days and times to film. Research helped us in our final film a lot unlike the preliminary because we got inspiration from other real life movies.
Teamwork
As we slowly reached the end of the deadline, we went through many debates on who was co-operating in our group with the work and who was not. It was a vital part of the group, being a team, but after many struggles we still managed to pull through. Although we had to take up more work which we first set out to do.
Organisation
I think our organisation skills were kept standerd and the same as before. Because like before, we kept all of our files and folders neat and in the right locations.

Evaluation - 7) What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
TASK: Make an animatic movie (using found still images or still screen grabs) with a voiceover about your own journey through the maze of technology you have encountered on the course.

TASK: This could be a film of a discussion about your title sequence, a mash up of soundbites, a podcast of voxpops from the cinema show , a ‘word cloud’ made on wordle from typed up feedback, a documentary about the cinema show, something else you think of!

Evaluation - 4&5) What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? How will you attract/address your audience?
TASK: Discuss how the internet has been used to launch this movie to a wider audience, then explain how you have followed a similar model yourself.
Seeing as our final opening was at a low budget production, I dont think we would get a million of recognition like we dreamed of. But that doesnt stop me from spreading and sharing the video, as the internet is probably the easiest place to advertise. The main websites used are mainly social networking sites such as:
- YouTube - a video sharing website on which users can upload and share videos.
- Facebook - a social networking website on which users can keep up to date with there friends.
- Twitter - a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.
- Tumblr - a blogging platform that allows users to post text, images, video, links, quotes, and audio to their tumblelog, a short-form blog.
- Vimeo - a video-centric social networking site similar to YouTube.
Amongst these websites, they give users the power to 'Like' and 'Comment' on the video/link to show you their opinion on it. You can also subscribe or follow to keep up to date with the company, and even share or reblog it to other people! Below are screenshots of how they work.
Evaluation - 3) Who would be the audience for your media product?
TASK: Create a montage of images depicting the contents of the handbag/manbag belonging to the typical target audience member for your movie.
The sort of target audience that we may be expecting are people who are 25 and above as they are really into thrills, especially the females according to surveys. But I believe our thriller is set for an even wider range of target audiences such as the teenagers, from possibly 15-19 or so. Because teens are young, full of action and hype. They would really be the type to jump out of their seats and scream.
