Camera Skills

1. Starting requirements
  • Storyboard - storyline to follow so we know whats going to happen
  • Location - suitable setting fitted for the story
  • Actors - to play the roles of the characters
  • Additional props -  needed for recording scene
2. Setting and adjusting camera
  • Tripod - to keep the camera still at a certain level or to track/pan smoothly
  • Focus - to make the scene clearer on the video
  • Zoom - to get a closer or further look on something
3. Camera shots
  • Close Up - shot of face only
  • Medium - shot of body from waist up
  • Long - shot of whole body
  • Wide - shot from far showing scenary
4. Moving camera
  • Tracking - for following a person or object
  • Panning - for viewing one side to another horizontally
  • Tilting - for moving up or down vertically
5. Recording
  • Lens - open when in use and close when finish
  • Record - when filming starts, wait 5 seconds before acting the scene
  • Umbrella - used when raining so water doesnt touch the camera
  • Lighting - additional lights to add effect or make the scene visible
  • Microphone - attached microphones so dialogues are more clearer and louder
